What to Expect 

Your Therapist​

  • HCPC Registered Art Psychotherapist, Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and BWRT® Practitioner

  • An experienced, caring and compassionate clinician; considerate of all factors that potentially affect an individual's well-being, offering choice and control whenever possible

  • A confidential, safe space from which to explore your difficulties, where you can express your feelings and thoughts freely

  • A range of psychotherapeutic approaches to suit your needs, informed by evidence - based therapy practices

  • Referrals from other professionals are accepted.

Initial Counselling Session

  • Completion of forms; Therapist - client services agreement, confidentiality forms and safe-guarding

  • Clinical Assessment; your medical history, including current medications and your presenting symptoms

  • 50 minute counselling sessions for individuals

  • An opportunity for the therapist and client to find out if the services being offered, are best suited to the client's needs

  • Dependent on the initial assessment and client needs, formulation and approach to therapy will be explored and discussed.

  • For extended benefit coverage, please note that coverage is in BC only for registered clinical Counselors (RCC) with the BCACC.

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy is a one-on-one working relationship between client and therapist, known as the “therapeutic alliance” and may encompass a range of psychotherapeutic approaches.

Group Therapy

Group therapy is a form of therapy in which a therapist works with a carefully considered small group of clients together, who are often experiencing similar issues.

Children

Children can sometimes find it difficult to articulate their thoughts and feelings. Therapy support for children can help with a range of struggles they may be experiencing in life including anxiety, low self-esteem, trauma, changes in their life and issues at school.
